Abstract:
Introduction:
The project BHTelehealth aims to improve the care quality through continuing education of professionals and support care. It links the 146 basic units of health (UBS) from Belo Horizonte City Department of Health (SMSA) to education health units of Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). The project is an experience of telehealth resources incorporation in primary care. The model began on 2004 and consists of videoconferences and teleconsultations (online or offline). This study evaluated the perceptions of the professionals from UBS about the incorporation of videoconferences in their work process and at the institutional organization.
Methodology:
A qualitative study was conducted where were applied semi-structured questionnaires with open questions. The universe examined was 318 questionnaires between 2006 and 2007. There were answered by the Fursing, Family Health, Oral Health and Specialists teams.
It was used the free software QDA - Weft for data analysis.
Discussion and Results: The Organizational Dimension considered the aspects of culture and organizational environment, knowledge management, regulation and institutionalization of practices in telehealth. The responses of some professionals have pointed to the difficult issues in the internal working team in order to allow the all participations. The assistance was evaluated by the professionals, considering as a good point the comfort in staying at work and easy access. It was also positive evaluated as helping to clarify questions of healthcare, allowing the debate and discussion of cases with problem resolution. In knowledge, it was possible to obtain information and continuing education.
Conclusion: Even with needs of improvement, the BHTelehealth has being consolidate as a clinical support tool to the improvement of health professionals.
Importance: The BHtelehealth is a large project becoming an important model in the formulation and implementation process of the National Project of Telehealth in Brazil.
